Weekend
Can't really add much to Karen's Friday or Saturday night reports. All I can do is talk about Sunday.
Woke up at 09.00 which is late for me. My mum made sausage sandwiches, I helped my mum put up two mirrors and helped my dad but a spring on the back door. We were going to Harrogate and on the way we called in at Warren's house and dropped off a pressure washer. Warren and Caroline had tidied up and it was all looking spic and span.
So we got to Harrogate and we had a bit of a chop. I bought nice chinese food from M&S for tea and some nice aftershave M&S sell (surprising that you can buy a cheapo aftershave that smells nice - its Woodspice in case you fancy trying it and (since its strong and cheap) its ideal for work) and a wallet. Bought some Issey Miyake from Boots, some pop and sweets from Asda.
Then they dropped me at the station. They were going to drop me off at Leeds but my mum moaned about the Leeds one way system: "ooh we may end up having to spend 5 minutes extra travelling home in order to drop you off so you can extend your journey by an hour and a fiver by going home from here".
Thank fuck for the fact that I had to wait 5 minutes for a train. Had I arrived 5 minutes later I would have had to wait two hours for the next train. Got into Leeds almost an hour later and there was a train leaving in 5 minutes for Blackpool North. The train I get to work sometimes goes to Blackpool North so I thought that it would be the same train and would stop at Manchester Oxford Road but no, the conductor told me that it went via Blackburn not Manchester and so I should change at Pudsey, go back to Leeds and start again.
Got to Pudsey and checked the timetable. The next train to Leeds was in 25 minutes but the next train on the platform I was on went to Manchester and was in 30 minutes so I waited around for that - desperately wanting a fag to kill the time but some bugger at the BBQ had nicked it - it eventually came and the conductor on that train told me that it wasn't going on to Manchester due to some engineering works and so I had to get a bus replacement at Rochdale so we eventually got to Rochdale and then got on the bus.
I sat on the top deck and wished instantly that I hadn't. The whole of the top of the bus was full of middle aged spanish men spread all over the top deck shouting to one another from the front to the back. The journey of 13 miles to Manchester took an incredible 45 minutes - I was amazed. I could almost have walked as quick - how it took so long I have no idea. Anyway we got to Victoria Station and fed up of being fucked about I got a cab home arriving three and a half hours after being dropped off in Harrogate - a journey speed of 15 miles an hour. Next time I buy some sodding roller skates!
