Meet the parents, swim, flicks and the AA
Thursday 18th
Went and bought the babies car seat in my lunch hour on the company credit card, reight do, how good is David?
Put garden back together at t.time (retrieved BBQ and bird feeders and storm damaged furniture), unloaded car seat after Andy had got out of the shower, then off to Morrison's (bocker store, give me Tesco's any day, you only spend more in bigger supermarkets) Andy was £85 lighter by the time we got home at 7.30pm, ( i rest my case), and we were laden down with shopping bags full of meat and cornettos mainly.
Unpacked..him, bathed..me, fish for tea, bed by 10pm, nookie, t.v., magazines and asleep by 11.30pm, that's a late night for us, but he'd no overtime the next day, so we were living life by the seat of our pants.
Friday 19th.
Lovely day, Andy was wide awake and the cricket was on at 1/2 8, everyone at work in high spirits, as is the case when David isn't dieting, few last bits purchased for buffet, home early as i needed to take Paul for his Z4 (it had been at the garage getting a new tyre, as the other had a screw in), Andy was ligged on sofa, all cats running riot, i could have cried for him, he's so cute, he'd draped all the clothes that were in the washer over the airer, thinking he was helping, only he'd forgotten to use soap powder...........bless!
Once i'd bathed and Andy had vacced up, we set too making the running buffet for our parents........eek!!! major pressure, G&D arrived at 7.30pm.......my parents were late as Jim was watching Question of Sport, anyhew on the upside the food went down a treat, it was all very serene, power ballads playing on the stereo, the cats behaved and my Father never stopped talking.. for 3 hours, mainly about himself.......struth! poor Gill and Dave couldn't get a word in edge ways, the baby (1st grandchild) was never mentioned, just shite like LCD golf balls, paving slabs, painting and decorating, the church, that horse that won Cheltenham back in 2002......oh i was cringing, the Caffreys was making him more hyper, you'd think he never went out!
They dispersed at 1/2 10, Dad insisting they had a lift so he could talk some more at them, I'm burying my head in Andy's shoulder he's washing up while chuntering "appearing for 1 night only, Jim and his incredible one man show"..........oh jeez!! bed 11pm, jiggered, drained, glad it was all over, but full as a butchers pup........none the less.
Saturday 20th.
D.Turton txt at 10am, to say rugby pitch was waterlogged, so plan B was put into place, off to the Gym for him and the baths for me, he was back an hour later than me, so I'd filled feeders, changed bedding, showered etc and the full English breakfast complete with hash browns was well underway.
Next was lots of sport on the t.v, 2 rugby and 1 football match i recall.........don't mind me, I've 6 1/2 hours of washing, tumble drying of clothes, bedding, rugs, towels etc to keep me busy.........watch what you like......grrr!
Tea of soup and sandwiches, quick change and off to the flicks at the showcase cinemas Leeds........Smoking aces, okay but not brilliant.....we should have listened to Ruth.
Home not too late, stalling the car twice like a clumsy pregnant woman buffoon type driver.
Straight to bed as all this staying in never socialising with anyone takes it out of you you know.
Sunday 21st
The plan was to have a power breakfast (so as not to feel over full for our Sunday roast), nip to look in the Mama's and Papa's in Bramley, have an hours walk round Shibden park, home not too late so Andy could go meet his friends to watch the footie in the pub. (at my insistence, geddout from under me feet).
What actually happened............., SSMS, coffees, fresh fruit, toast jam and banana for AP, quick chat to RMS on the blower, put the lamb in at no.4, then 1/2 way to Bramley.... the STOP sign came on the dash, saying we'd to contact the Citroen dealer, ooh fook, decided to risk it home.
Called Citroen assist, they sent nice AA man, who said engine was 122%, it was too dangerous to drive and he'd tow us to the garage, i volunteered Andy to steer my car while i sat in the breakdown truck chatting to nice man.
We were home with 4 mins to spare, he was in the shower like Jack Flash, John picked him up, i phoned my boss and asked him how i should get to work today, making it quite clear i wouldn't be getting on any bus, he said to come in late and make my own way in, as he'd no one spare to fetch me, plus being Jewish shelling out £20 on a joe baxi was out of the question.
I intended to watch the Devil wears Prada on DVD while he was at the pub, but by the time I'd tidied round, phoned Mum for a lift this morning, prepared roasties and all the veg, bathed, made today's sarnies, he was back.......a bit fresh, but happy as Larry trying to get Maisie (who he calls bulldog, due to the excess weight she's put on in the last year, she is stocky as fook.....bless her) to break dance.
Sunday roast was outstanding, (the lamb having been in for 6 1/2hrs), he washed up, then asked me if i wanted some pudding, showed me what he was having....a Mr.Kipling bake well tart with ice cream topped with revels in the same dish......i passed, we put the DVD on until it went a bit fuzzy 1/2 way through, so up to bed to watch the 2nd half followed by Trial and Retribution...very good and can't wait for the conclusion tonight, then laid chatting a while as i could have a lie-in today yippee!
Monday 22nd
Andy didn't want to go to work at 6.30am today, he felt a bit sick........off you go, you lazy article, that's £100 for baby, what i actually said was he'd feel much better once he got there, in my best Gill P molly coddling voice.
Me and the moggies went back to sleep till 9.30am, quick phone call to the garage, Mum came to pick me up at 10am, so I've heard all about Steven moving back today, Ruth's pancakes, Auntie Margaret's operation, Martyn's washer, the dolls house.....etc etc all before my 1st cup of coffee.
Spent all morning blogging, then David unplugged my computer to change 4 gang for a 6 gang adapter so he could plug the heater in, so i lost the entire master piece....grrr!
But on the upside, Andy's felling much better, they've put a new sensor in the car, it's fixed, I've been to fetch it, called at M&S for Dave and Morrison's and the bank, am blogging again, had an email from Clare who lives in Germany who i used to work with so I'm going to reply to her and Matthew.
Then it'll be home time nearly, no plans for this evening........ :o) heaven!!! so that's my news, not as dull as usual, but relying on the car to break down and your father to show you up is a bit of a poor do, if that's all the gossip you have.........cest la vie.
