The road to London

After much pressure from Kazza, I am here blogging.

Last Saturday we went to that London. There was me, Becky, the Ellington, Louise, Karrie (all of which I have either worked with previously or work with now) and Karries bf Kelvin. We planned this trip months ago and it was decided that Becky, Louise, Ellie and I would all go in Becky's car as it would be cheaper than all paying train fairs. So the week before Ellie decided that she wasn't going to be quite busy enough that last weekend and decided she would go via Brighton to a horse show on the Tursday and Friday. Ellie would make her own way to the hotel in London, which was not a good idea considering she was petrified of travelling on the tube on her own (considering recent events).

Anyway Becky and Louise picked me up from Leeds station (I got on a bus from Cleck) and off we went. Becky and I immediately started on the sarnies, crisps and essentail scotch eggs. Before we knew it we were in what looked like a very busy place. So just to check I kept shouting out of the window "is this London" (aka the local people). We stayed at the Millennium hotel in Mayfair, which was REALLY posh. Ellie arrived about 30mins after us, with two black bags - welldone Ellie, bet you got some right looks on the tube on your own. Checked in then we went for a walk about. Ellie went for a culture fix, Becky, Louise and I went down Oxford St and within about 15mins found out selves sat down with a pint. We only had the one as we had to get back, smarten up and then be at the pre-booked restaurant for 6pm. It was an Italian. I had goats cheese followed by a rare ribeye fillet - both were well nice. Some how I managed to order a 2nd bottle of vino without realising - or well never mind. Quick - let go, we needed to be in the theatre for 7.30pm. We went to see 'Some Girls' staring David Schwimmer at the Gielgud theatre. It was Ok but not really my cup of tea. Personally I thought it was very repetative, however Becky informs me that that was supposed to be part of the story. Anyway David looked vey sexy and I have never thought that about him before, so it just goes to show that it can make a big difference in the flesh. So I just about managed not to fall asleep.

Next on the planned agenda was the pub crawl pre-designed by Louise. She is very good as she made sure that there were some pubs with wrongens in. All though it is hard to miss pooftar bars in that London. The night quickly became hazzy, we tried our best to stick to the pub crawl which was marked in pink highlighter pen on our map. However I am sure we ended up in more of my sorts of pubs then there's ACE!! For some reason Kelvin decided he would start on the shots, which was really funny as no one else had any and he went down hill really fast and wasn't amking any sense at all.

I invented yet another new dance. It has been named London Boys (Do you remember the band, you can borrow the tape if you wish?) Don't worry I will teach you in in the Regal. We stagged into the hotel about 2.30am (past all the hunky police men with there big guns). At this point I invented another new phrase. 'Room biscuits'. Do you have room biscuits in your room? I asked everyone, no one did ;¬(. I thought they would have been nice to go with the cider we had brought with us. No room biscuits, so off to our rooms. Ellie and I had the left over scotch eggs before bed.

Sunday. Becky was phoning ellie's mobile saying quick get down for breakfast, Matt will be really mad if he misses the breakfast its well nice. So off we went and oh it was good. Got rid of the hang over straight away!! I got a massive plate full and finished it no probs. As we were checking out we bumbed into Karrie and Kelvin - ha ha ha Kelvin looked so wrough!!! Ellie departed and Becky, Louise and I went off to Leicester square so see if there was any thing happening. No not really, so we went into the National gallery. It was Ok, but you know me and culture, unless it is Cleck culture I am not interested. We set off home about 2pm. Of course Becky and I immediately stared on the sarnies. Home for 5.15pm, ACE!!!

Matt - no cmmoetns rgeadrnig spllenig or gramemr plaese
